Seahorse
Hippocampus jayakari
Jayakar's seahorse is a coastal fish in the family Syngnathidae found across the Western Indian Ocean, from the Red and Arabian seas to the central coast of Pakistan. It frequents seagrass beds, algae, soft-bottom areas, sponges and rocky ground, and can grow to about 14 centimetres (5.5 in). Although it ranges down to depths of 20 metres (66 ft), it is more usually seen at just 2-3 metres (6.6-9.8 ft), and like other seahorses it is thought to feed on small crustaceans.
