Red Snapper
Lutjanus bohar
Lutjanus bohar, known variously as the two-spot red snapper, red bass, twinspot snapper or bohar snapper, is a ray-finned fish in the snapper family Lutjanidae (and should not be confused with the unrelated Australian snapper). It is broadly distributed across the Indo-Pacific.

Habitat
A coral reef species, it lives at depths between 4 and 180 m, though it is most commonly encountered in the 10 to 70 m range.
Behaviour
It is long-lived and slow to grow, reaching maturity only at 8 to 9 years, with the oldest known individual recorded at 56. The diet is carnivorous, made up mainly of other fish along with crustaceans and molluscs. Adults frequently gather in large schools over outer reefs or sandy areas, chiefly to spawn, while small brownish juveniles imitate Chromis damselfishes to sneak up on prey. The chambered nautilus, Nautilus pompilius, scavenges dead snappers; one pair was filmed feeding on a snapper 703 metres down, the deepest sighting ever recorded for any nautilus.
